Collaboration platforms create content and permissions constantly, at the initiative of users rather than administrators. Their governance model, who can create spaces, invite externals, share links and retain content, is the main control surface.
Consolidation is usually a security win: fewer platforms means fewer identity models, audit logs and data locations to govern.
