Overview
BI platforms connect to warehouses and operational systems, apply a semantic model with agreed definitions and measures, and publish dashboards and reports with scheduled refresh.
The hard part is governance of definitions. Two dashboards showing different revenue figures destroy trust faster than any outage, so a single certified model matters more than visual polish.
Security considerations
- Enforce row level security in the model and control export and sharing of datasets.
- Certify authoritative datasets and monitor for personal copies that drift from them.
