Overview
Wi-Fi performance is an RF design problem: channel planning, cell size, band steering and client capability matter more than access point count. Wi-Fi 6 and 6E add OFDMA and, in 6 GHz, far more clean spectrum.
Enterprise authentication uses WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise with 802.1X and EAP TLS, issuing per user or per device credentials rather than a shared passphrase.
Security considerations
- Use WPA3 Enterprise with certificate based EAP TLS where possible; avoid shared PSKs on corporate SSIDs.
- Separate guest traffic into an isolated VLAN with client isolation and its own egress policy.
- Monitor for rogue and evil twin access points.
