Proxies & Reverse Proxies
Intermediaries that terminate and re originate connections, enabling inspection, caching, publishing and policy enforcement.

Overview
A forward proxy sits between users and the internet, applying URL filtering, malware scanning and data controls; modern equivalents are cloud secure web gateways. A reverse proxy sits in front of servers, publishing them safely and adding TLS, caching and WAF.
Because a proxy sees decrypted content, it produces some of the richest security telemetry available, and carries a matching privacy and reliability responsibility.
