Overview
FinOps combines visibility (tagging, showback, budgets and alerts), optimisation (rightsizing, scheduling, storage tiering, commitment discounts) and accountability (owners per workload with cost targets).
The largest savings usually come from removing waste, idle resources, orphaned disks, over provisioned databases, unmanaged data egress, before negotiating commitments.
