File Services
Shared file storage delivered over SMB or NFS, or through cloud collaboration platforms with sync clients.

Overview
Traditional file servers provide share and NTFS permissions, quotas, shadow copies and DFS namespaces for location independence. Cloud platforms replace them with document libraries, sync clients and sharing links.
Migration is rarely a copy exercise: permission models, retention, versioning and link based sharing behave differently, and folder structures designed for drive letters usually need rethinking.
Security considerations
- Audit for broad 'Everyone' or 'Authenticated Users' permissions and for over shared cloud links.
- Enable versioning and recycle bin retention to blunt accidental and malicious deletion.
